Venus Laney: News

Just arrived back home EARLY this morning...will update more later after I get a bit more sleep :) But for now, here is a glimpse...thanks so much to all of our dedicated prayer partners! May the Lord reward you abundantly for your faithfullness!

I am so excited about the worship service and cd release this weekend that I can hardly contain myself! Anyone that has seen me the last few days would agree, I am sure! It's not just about the cd being completed...it is so much more. It is about the vision being made a reality...God's promises coming to fruition, the desires of HIS heart being birthed through this obedient process.

I have felt an urgency to share this vision before Saturday night; as we read in the scriptures to "write the vision down and make it plain so that the herald may run with it". I want you to see the vision so that you so that you can come with the same expectation and excitement....to charge YOUR faith so that we can BELIEVE for the GOD THINGS to happen, just as He desires.

This entire process has demanded faith to attain it - even from the very beginning. I did not have the finances, the musicians, the producer, nothing but the songs I had penned and a desire to get them out to God's people. But that desire and a promise from God propelled me out into the deep to trust Him in ways I never have before.

As I fasted and prayed for direction, this is what the Lord spoke about the purpose behind not only this cd, but the ministry He was preparing me for....to create annointed music that will help usher His people into a presence of God that will destroy the yolks of bondage, sickness, addiction, and oppression...salvation for the lost, suicidal spirits forced to flee at the mention of Jesus' name! He told me that He would provide in every area as I continued to trust Him.

To my questions of "why me?", I was told that I had found favor in the sight of God and would be given favor in the eyes of men. With great humbleness and gratitude, I grabbed hold of that word and declare that I am worthy because of the blood of Jesus. I will not deny any blessing He chooses to bestow upon me, because it is ALL FOR HIS GLORY!

Since that time, I can testify of the reality. Once you hear this cd, you will see how He provided each musician of EXCELLENCE! You will be able to read the endorsements from Pastor Judy Jacobs and Minister Chris Allen. You will see that the songs I have written are now being covered by Minister Jamie Tuttle's production company Stay Close Publishing. I can testify about debuting the first song at the IIOM in Cleveland, TN before Pastor Rod Parsley ministered the word that night. I can share with you that just yesterday I was told I will be opening for Jason Crabb at an event this summer. Yes, favor in the sight of man.

My purpose for sharing these testimonies with you is to say...He IS bringing His word to pass! And there's no reason not to believe Him for the FULL VISION...for the salvations, the healings, the deliverances. Don't you see this has all some together 'for such a time as this'! Once again, I implore you - come BELIEVING for His purposes to be fulfilled. Saturday is just the beginning. He said His desire for the night is that "His glory would FILL the house!"

Come expecting His glory! Invite every person God lays on your heart to be there and leave the results up to Him! It is time...

What a mighty God we serve! Production is finally underway for the new cd and it has already surpassed every dream. Isn't that just like our God to go above and beyond ALL that we could dare ask, hope for, or think!

I cannot even describe the joy that is in my heart right now!! I have got to declare that God IS faithful who has made the promise. He IS true to His word. If we would only believe...

Got Faith?

Thank you to all of you for your continued prayers and encouragement. And thanks be to JESUS for every divine connection and timely move. Can't wait to see what's next!

I cannot begin to tell you how much the prayers and support from so many people have meant to me and my family. I am constantly encouraged and inspired to press in further every time I read an email or comment telling about God's grace and how He is working through this ministry. Thank you all!

Just wanted to take a moment to tell of how God is already revealing peices of His plan. I posted my vision from God and personal commission in the "Check Your Vision" devotional at the first of the year. In it, I described how God has spoken to me that I would spread His gospel to many nations. He has recently shown me that the gifts and callings He has placed within me include more than music - but also a desire to teach and preach His word. No one was more surprised than me :)

I tried not to question God about the "many nations" because that is just absurd to ask the creator of the universe "are you really sure you're right about this one?"! But, I think we've all had those moments of wonder before. Well of course He knows the end from the beginning, so we must learn to trust and not lean on our own understanding.

He proved to me just how awesome and right He is - there has been a very dear family in Kenya that I have been in contact with since last fall that came across the site from one of the devotionals I had included on faithwriters.com . That's one more nation being touched through the power of Jesus Christ! To God alone, I give all the glory for this divine connection.

I am sharing this with you all to glorify the Lord and also to ask for your continued prayers for this family and their nation. Recent violence has taken over this country. This family, among many others, has been forced to evacuate their home and all their belongings. Food and supplies are very scarce and the fighting and looting continues to spread.

I have never seen or heard of such faith in my life as I have from Brother Isaac and his wife, Robby. Each time I send a message of hope, I am far more blessed by the responses I receive. They are trusting completely upon the faithfulness and might of our Lord Jesus Christ to deliver them that they may continue their own evangelistic ministry and spread the gospel to others in their nation.

Please agree with me in prayer remembering them and the many others in this country in need of God's protection and deliverance. Your prayers really do make a difference!

A few months ago, I was placed in a season of divine discontent. I was in a constant struggle going from valley to peak with no outward sign of the cause. But, I began to seek God in a more fervent way during that time. Then finally, the Lord revealed to me the cause for this time of trial. It was to press in closer to Him so that I could hear an important instruction.

God has asked me to leave my current place of comfort and provision so that I may position myself to be used by Him in a greater way. I will be leaving my job to have more time of preparation for whatever lies ahead.

As a mother, I need valued time with my family and yet the desires that God has placed within me only push me to do more. This time off will allow me to spend more time with them while also providing more time for study and prayer.

It has been almost a year since the release of "God Most High". During this time He has been shaping me and birthing within me new gifts and the desire to teach and minister His word. I am excited to see what lies ahead.

He has already begun to open doors that no man could open for me and this ministry. I look forward to sharing more with you soon. Please keep me and my family in prayer - that we would be obedient to the voice of the Lord and follow His perfect will.

A portion of all God Most High cd proceeds will be donated to the following ministries:
The Wade Center in Bluefield, WV and Appalachian Teen Challenge in Athens, WV. While I believe that the messages contained in these songs were meant to be a blessing to each person who listens, I also believe in sharing the financial blessings with others who are fulfilling God's Great Commission. I cannot get away from the burden for today's youth that I feel so strongly on my heart. By contributing to these ministries, I feel we are being proactive with the Outreach Efforts that The Wade Center provides for area youth....teen diversion centers, after school helps, college ministries, etc. We are also able to work defensively in helping those who have already fallen into the bounds of addiction by partnering with Teen Challenge. Please join with me in prayer for these ministries and the precious people involved who give of their hearts and time....for they do not labor in vain!
